Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Long ago, people settled together and decided to build a city. They made bricks and began building a very tall tower. They wanted to make a name for themselves and stay together in one place.
God saw the city and the tower. The people all spoke the same language, so they could understand one another. God changed their speech so they could no longer understand one another.
The people stopped building and spread out across the earth. The city was called Babel. This story reminds us that God sees what people do and is greater than any building.
Questions to ask
- What are the people building?
- What did they use to build the tower?
- Why did the people stop building the tower?
