“He took his staff in his hand, and chose for himself five smooth stones out of the brook”
The story behind this colouring sheet
David had come to bring food to his older brothers in the army. When he heard Goliath shouting, he was shocked. "Who is this man who insults the army of the living God?"
David went to King Saul. "I will fight the giant!" Saul tried to give David his own armour, but it was much too big and heavy. So David took it off.
Instead he picked up his shepherd's staff and went down to the stream. He chose five smooth stones and put them in his bag. Then, with his sling in his hand, he walked out to meet Goliath.
David was trusting in God, not in armour.
