About the story

The Philistine army had a giant called Goliath, who challenged Israel to send someone to fight him. Everyone was afraid.

Then young David arrived, bringing food for his brothers. He couldn't believe nobody would stand up for God. "I'll fight him!" he said.

David didn't wear armour. He took his shepherd's staff, chose five smooth stones from a stream, and walked out with his sling. "The battle is the Lord's," he told Goliath. With one stone, the giant fell, and everyone saw that God had won the victory.
