Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
The teacher in Ecclesiastes looked at the world and thought about God's work. He wrote that God makes everything beautiful in its time. A seed does not become a flower all at once. It grows little by little, in the season that is right for it.
People also grow and change. We learn, work, rest, celebrate and sometimes feel sad. We cannot always understand everything that happens, but we can notice the good gifts around us and remember that God sees more than we do.
When you see a flower open or a tree grow new leaves, you can remember that good things often take time. Thank God for the beauty you see today, and trust him with what is still growing.
Questions to ask
- What flowers can you see?
- What changes when spring comes?
- What is something good that takes time to grow or learn?
