The story behind this colouring sheet
"He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters."
Sheep need fresh grass to eat and clean water to drink. A good shepherd leads them to the best places.
Sheep are easily frightened, and they won't lie down unless they feel safe. They also don't like fast, rushing water. So the shepherd finds a quiet stream where they can drink in peace.
This verse reminds us that God gives us what we need, and He gives us peace and rest. When we feel worried or tired, we can rest in Him.
Talk about it
- What are the sheep lying on?
- Why do sheep like still water rather than fast water?
- When you feel tired or worried, how can God help you rest?
