The story behind this colouring sheet
Psalm 23 is one of the best-loved parts of the whole Bible. It was written by David, who had been a shepherd boy.
David knew how a good shepherd cares for his sheep. He finds them food and water, protects them from danger and goes looking for any that are lost.
So David wrote: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall lack nothing." He meant that God looks after us like a shepherd looks after his sheep. With God caring for us, we have everything we really need.
Later, Jesus said, "I am the Good Shepherd."
