The story behind this colouring sheet
Long before Jesus was born, the prophet Isaiah said that a special baby would be born, and He would be called Immanuel.
Immanuel is a Hebrew name that means "God with us".
That is exactly who Jesus is. God did not stay far away in heaven. He came down to earth as a baby, to live with people, to know what it is like to be one of us, and to save us.
Matthew's Gospel tells us that when Jesus was born, Isaiah's promise came true. And at the very end of his Gospel, Matthew tells how Jesus promised His friends, "I am with you always." God is still with us today!
Talk about it
