“I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
The story behind this colouring sheet
On a dark winter evening, a single candle can light up a whole room. That is one reason why candles are part of Christmas.
When Jesus was grown up, He said: "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
Darkness can make us feel lost or afraid. Light helps us see where we are going and makes us feel safe.
Jesus came into the world to be like a light. He shows us the way to God and fills our lives with hope. At Christmas, we light candles to remember that the Light of the World was born.
Talk about it
- What does a candle give us?
- What did Jesus say He is?
- How can you shine Jesus' light to others this Christmas?
