Memory verse
“Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.”
Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Paul wrote that love never fails. Other things people know or can do may not last for ever, but God's love does not run out. God made us, cares for us and keeps his promises. Paul said that prophecies, languages and knowledge would one day end, but love would remain.
The Bible says we can see only part of the whole picture now. One day we will understand more. Until then, we can trust God and show his love to others through patient, helpful choices. Love can bring comfort and make a hard day easier.
A young tree grows little by little. With water and care, it becomes stronger. The tree in this picture can remind us that love keeps growing. We can share, forgive, encourage and help, knowing that love is always worth choosing.
Questions to ask
- What helps a little tree grow?
- How can you show someone love today?
- What do you think Paul means when he says that love never fails?
