Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus told a story about a traveler walking from Jerusalem to Jericho. The road went through rocky hills. Robbers took the traveler’s things and left him beside the road. He needed help.
A priest and then another man saw him, but they passed by. A Samaritan came along and stopped. He gently cared for the traveler and helped him onto his donkey.
Jesus told the story to teach people to love their neighbours. The traveler needed help, and the Samaritan chose to help him.
Questions to ask
- What is beside the road?
- Where was the traveler resting?
- Who stopped to help the traveler?
