A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
The Samaritan brought the traveler to an inn and cared for him there. The traveler could rest in a safe place. The next day, the Samaritan paid the innkeeper to look after him.
The Samaritan said he would come back and pay any extra cost. He did not leave the traveler without care. He made a plan to help him get better.
Jesus asked which person had acted like a neighbour. The answer was the one who showed mercy. Jesus told his listeners to go and do likewise.
Questions to ask
- Where is the traveler resting?
- Who is sitting beside the traveler?
- What did Jesus teach about being a neighbour?
