About the story
A large crowd came to hear Jesus near the Sea of Galilee. When the people needed food, the disciples wondered how they could feed so many. A boy had five barley loaves and two fish, and Andrew brought him to Jesus.
Jesus gave thanks and shared the food through the disciples. Everyone ate as much as they wanted. Afterwards, the disciples collected twelve baskets of leftover pieces. The small lunch had become enough for the crowd.
Jesus later fed another large crowd with seven loaves and a few fish. Again everyone ate, and baskets of food remained. These stories show Jesus noticing the people's needs and involving his disciples in sharing what they had.
