About the story
Lazarus lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha. Jesus loved them and had visited their home. When Lazarus became very ill, his sisters sent a message to Jesus.
Jesus arrived in Bethany after Lazarus had been in the tomb for four days. Martha went to meet him, and Mary came too. Jesus wept with the people who were mourning. He went to the tomb and asked for the stone to be moved.
Jesus prayed and called, "Lazarus, come out!" Lazarus walked out, and Jesus told the people to untie him and let him go. Many people saw what happened. The sisters had their brother with them again, and many believed in Jesus.
