Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus came to the tomb where Lazarus had been laid. A stone covered the entrance. Jesus asked for it to be moved, and Martha reminded him that Lazarus had been dead for four days.
Jesus prayed aloud so the people nearby could hear. Then he called, "Lazarus, come out!" Lazarus came out of the tomb, still wrapped in burial cloths. Jesus told the people to untie him and let him go.
Mary and Martha saw their brother alive again. Many people who had come to comfort them witnessed what happened. Some believed in Jesus, while others went to tell the religious leaders.
Questions to ask
- Who came out of the tomb?
- What did Jesus call to Lazarus?
- What did Jesus ask the people to do after Lazarus came out?
