About the story

Three months after leaving Egypt, God's people reached Mount Sinai. There was thunder, lightning and a thick cloud, and God called Moses up to the top of the mountain.

There God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, written on two tablets of stone. When Moses came back down, his face was shining because he had been with God.

God also told His people to build a special tent called the tabernacle, so He could live among them. When it was finished, God's glory filled it like a cloud.
