Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
In the desert, God told Moses to build a special tent called the tabernacle. It was a place where God would live among His people.
Everyone helped! People gave gold, silver, beautiful cloth and wood. Skilled workers made curtains, a golden lampstand and a special box called the Ark of the Covenant, which held the stone tablets.
When the tabernacle was finished, a cloud covered it and God's glory filled it.
The tent could be packed up and carried, so God went with His people wherever they travelled.
Questions to ask
- What was resting on top of the tent?
- Why did God want a special tent?
- God wanted to be close to His people. How is God close to us today?
