A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Three months after leaving Egypt, the Israelites reached Mount Sinai. God told Moses to get the people ready, because He was going to come down on the mountain.
On the third day, there was thunder and lightning, a thick cloud covered the mountain, and a trumpet blast grew louder and louder! The whole mountain shook.
The people stayed at the bottom. God called Moses to come up to the top of the mountain, and Moses climbed up to meet with God.
God was about to give His people His special laws.
Questions to ask
- What was on top of the mountain?
- Who climbed up to meet with God?
- God wanted to meet with His people. How can we spend time with God?
