A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
One day the Israelites had to defend themselves. Moses went up a hill with his staff. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning. But when he lowered them, they started losing.
Moses' arms got very tired. So his brother Aaron and his friend Hur had an idea. They found a stone for Moses to sit on. Then they stood on each side of him and held up his arms all day long, until sunset!
Moses couldn't do it on his own. He needed his friends' help. God gives us friends to help us when we're tired.
Questions to ask
- Who held up Moses' arms?
- Why did Moses need help?
- Who helps you when you're tired, and how can you help your friends?
