Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
The Israelites camped in a place with no water at all. Everyone was thirsty: the people, the children and the animals. They complained to Moses.
Moses prayed. God told him, "Take your staff and strike the rock. Water will come out of it for the people to drink."
Moses did what God said, in front of the leaders of Israel. And fresh, cool water came gushing out of the rock!
Everyone drank as much as they wanted. God provided for His people again.
Questions to ask
- What came out of the rock?
- What did Moses use to strike the rock?
- When we need something, what can we do first, like Moses did?
