Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
God placed Adam in a beautiful garden called Eden. Adam had work to do there: he cared for the plants and looked after the garden. The garden had trees with fruit, flowers and water.
God made Eve to be Adam's companion. Together they lived in the garden and cared for it. God told them they could eat fruit from the trees, except for one tree.
The Garden of Eden was a special home for Adam and Eve. Their story can remind us to care for the plants and animals around us. We can thank God for food, water and the people who help us.
Questions to ask
- What can you see growing in the garden?
- What are Adam and Eve doing in the garden?
- What are some ways we can care for the world around us?
