Hannah wanted a child very much. One day she went to the temple and prayed quietly to God. She promised that if God gave her a son, she would bring him to serve God.
Eli the priest saw Hannah praying. At first he did not understand, but then he blessed her and told her to go in peace. Hannah left feeling hopeful.
God heard Hannah's prayer. In time, she had a baby boy and named him Samuel. Hannah was joyful and thankful for her son.
