Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Samuel stayed at the temple and helped Eli. Hannah missed her son, but she visited him each year with her husband. She always brought Samuel a little coat that she had made.
Hannah was glad to see Samuel and make something warm for him. Samuel grew up serving God, and Hannah cared for him from year to year.
The little coat was a way for Hannah to show her love. Samuel could remember his family even while he lived at the temple.
Questions to ask
- What does Hannah bring?
- Who is wearing the little coat?
- How did Hannah show Samuel she loved him?
