About the story
Hannah prayed to God for a child. Eli the priest blessed her, and God heard Hannah's prayer. She had a son named Samuel and cared for him as he grew.
When Samuel was old enough, Hannah brought him to the temple to serve God with Eli. Each year she visited and brought Samuel a little coat she had made. Samuel learned to help Eli and worship God.
One night Samuel heard God calling his name. Eli helped him understand what to say. Samuel listened to God and grew up to be a prophet who served the people.
