Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
God told Moses that the last plague would be the worst of all. But God made a way to keep His people safe.
Each Israelite family was to have a special meal: roast lamb, flat bread made without yeast, and bitter herbs. They put the lamb's blood on their doorframes, and God passed over their houses and kept them safe.
They ate the meal dressed and ready to travel, because they would be leaving in a hurry!
God told them to remember this night every year. Jewish families still celebrate Passover today.
Questions to ask
- What food did the family eat?
- Why were they dressed for a journey?
- Why do you think God wanted His people to remember this night every year?
