The story behind this colouring sheet

The shepherds hurried into Bethlehem. And there they found Mary and Joseph — and the baby, lying in a manger, just as the angel had said!

Everything was exactly as God had told them. The shepherds knew this little baby was the Saviour, Christ the Lord.

Imagine them kneeling down in the straw, gazing at the tiny baby who had come to save the world. They had come straight from the fields, probably still smelling of sheep — and they were welcome.

Jesus came for everyone, rich or poor, important or ordinary. Nobody is left out.

Talk about it

  1. Where did the shepherds find baby Jesus?
  2. Was everything just as the angel had said?
  3. The shepherds came just as they were. Do you think Jesus welcomes us just as we are?
