Jesus, his mother Mary and his disciples were invited to a wedding in Cana. During the feast, the wine ran out. Mary told Jesus what had happened, then said to the servants, "Whatever he says to you, do it."
There were six large stone water jars nearby. Jesus told the servants to fill them with water. They filled them to the brim. Then he asked them to draw some out and take it to the person in charge of the feast.
The water had become wine. The person in charge tasted it and was surprised by its quality. This was the first sign Jesus did in Cana. His disciples saw what happened and put their trust in him.
