A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus told the servants to fill six large stone jars with water. They filled them all the way to the top. Then Jesus told them to draw some out and take it to the person in charge of the wedding feast.
The servants did what Jesus asked. The feast leader tasted what they brought and found that it was wine. He called the bridegroom and remarked that he had kept the best wine until then. He did not know where it had come from, but the servants knew.
Jesus had changed the water into wine. This sign at Cana showed his glory, and his disciples believed in him. The wedding continued, and the newly married couple had enough for their guests.
Questions to ask
- What did the servants fill with water?
- What did the servants take to the feast leader?
- Who knew where the wine had come from?
