About the story

David and Jonathan became close friends. Jonathan gave David his robe and showed him loyalty, even though Jonathan was the king's son. When King Saul grew angry with David, Jonathan warned his friend and helped him stay safe.

David had chances to harm Saul, who was chasing him, but he chose not to. He trusted God to judge fairly and treated Saul with respect. Later, Abigail brought food to David and spoke wisely when he was angry. Her words helped prevent a fight.

These stories show different ways to be a good friend: stay loyal, choose kindness and speak wisely. David, Jonathan and Abigail each helped others through their actions.
