About the story
Isaac and Rebekah's twin sons, Esau and Jacob, grew up with different interests. Esau became a hunter, while Jacob stayed near the tents. After Jacob left home, he dreamed of a ladder reaching to heaven and heard God's promise to be with him. He travelled to his relatives and met Rachel at a well, where he helped water her sheep. Years later, Jacob returned with his own family. He was anxious about seeing Esau again. Esau ran to meet him, embraced him, and the brothers wept together. Their meeting brought them peace after a long time apart. These stories follow Jacob's journey from his childhood home to a new family of his own, and show how God kept his promises to Jacob.
