About Joshua
Joshua was Moses' helper for many years. He was one of the twelve men Moses sent to explore Canaan, and he trusted that God would help the Israelites enter the land. After Moses died, God chose Joshua to lead the people.
God told Joshua to be strong and courageous and to remember God's law. Joshua led the Israelites across the Jordan River, where the priests carrying the ark stood on dry ground as the people crossed. He set up twelve stones so that families could remember the crossing.
Joshua followed God's instructions at Jericho. He led the people as they marched around the city, and the priests blew their trumpets. Joshua also prayed during a battle, asking for the sun to remain in the sky. He served as Israel's leader and reminded the people to follow God.
