“They were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear and the mute speak!””

A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Some people brought a man to Jesus because he could not hear and had difficulty speaking. They asked Jesus to help him. Jesus took the man aside, away from the crowd, and treated him gently.
Jesus touched the man's ears and tongue. He looked up to heaven and spoke. At once the man could hear, and he could speak clearly.
Jesus asked the people not to spread the news, but they told others. Everyone was amazed. They said that Jesus had done everything well and had even helped people who could not hear or speak. The man could now take part in conversations with the people around him.
Questions to ask
- What could the man not do before Jesus helped him?
- Who brought the man to Jesus?
- How might being able to hear and speak change the man's day?
