Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Joseph ended up in prison, even though he had done nothing wrong. But God was with him.
One night, Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, had two strange dreams. In one, seven thin cows ate up seven fat cows. In the other, seven thin ears of grain swallowed seven full ones. Nobody could tell him what they meant.
Then someone remembered Joseph. Joseph said, "I can't do it, but God can." God showed Joseph the meaning: there would be seven years of plenty of food, then seven years of famine. Pharaoh was amazed!
Questions to ask
- What animals were in Pharaoh's dream?
- Who helped Joseph understand the dreams?
- Joseph gave God the credit. Why is it good to thank God for the things we can do?
