Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Pharaoh was so impressed with Joseph that he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt! Joseph was second only to Pharaoh.
For seven good years, the harvests were huge. Joseph had the people store away some of the grain from every harvest in big storehouses in every city.
There was so much grain, like the sand on the seashore, that they stopped counting!
Then the seven years of famine came, just as God had shown. But Egypt had plenty of food, and people came from all over the world to buy grain.
Questions to ask
- What is being stored in the storehouses?
- How many good years were there before the famine?
- Joseph planned ahead. How can we plan ahead and share with others?
