Read the story together

A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.

Joseph tested his brothers to see if they had changed. They had! They were sorry for what they had done.

Joseph couldn't hold back his tears any longer. "I am Joseph!" he said. "Your brother, the one you sold!" His brothers were terrified.

But Joseph said, "Don't be upset. God sent me here ahead of you to save lives. You meant to harm me, but God meant it for good."

Joseph hugged his brothers and forgave them completely. God had turned something very bad into something wonderful.

Questions to ask

  1. What did Joseph do when he told his brothers who he was?
  2. Did Joseph punish his brothers or forgive them?
  3. Joseph forgave his brothers. Is there someone you need to forgive?
