Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
The famine reached Canaan too, where Joseph's family lived. Jacob sent ten of his sons to Egypt to buy food.
When they arrived, they came to the governor of Egypt and bowed down to him with their faces to the ground. They didn't recognise him, but it was Joseph!
Joseph knew them straight away. And he remembered his dreams from long ago: his brothers were bowing down to him, just as God had shown him.
Joseph had to decide: would he punish his brothers, or show them kindness?
Questions to ask
- Did Joseph's brothers recognise him?
- Which of Joseph's dreams came true?
- If you were Joseph, what would you have done?
