Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus visited a village where Martha welcomed him into her home. Her sister Mary sat near Jesus and listened to what he was saying.
Martha was busy getting everything ready for their guest. She asked Jesus to tell Mary to help her. Jesus answered gently that Martha was worried about many things, while Mary had chosen to listen.
The story shows two sisters responding in different ways when Jesus visited. Martha wanted to serve him well, and Mary wanted to hear his teaching. Jesus helped Martha pause and notice that listening was important too.
