Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Solomon became king after his father David. One night, God appeared to Solomon in a dream and asked what he wanted. Solomon asked God to give him wisdom so he could lead the people well.
God was pleased that Solomon asked for wisdom instead of riches or a long life. God promised to make Solomon wise and also give him many good things.
Solomon knew he needed God’s help to be a good king. He wanted to understand what was right and make fair decisions for the people.
Questions to ask
- What is beside the king?
- What did Solomon ask God to give him?
- Why did Solomon ask for wisdom?
