Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus told a story about a farmer who went out to scatter seeds. Some seeds fell on the hard path, and birds came to eat them. Other seeds fell among rocks and thorns. Those plants did not grow well.
Some seeds fell on good soil. They grew into healthy plants and produced a large harvest. Jesus explained that the seed is like God’s message. People hear it in different ways.
The story asks us to listen carefully and let God’s message grow in our lives, like seed growing in good soil.
Questions to ask
- What is the farmer holding?
- Where is the farmer scattering the seeds?
- What happened to the seeds that fell on good soil?
