Memory verse
““Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid. In his joy, he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.”
Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus told a story about a man who found treasure hidden in a field. The man was very glad. He hid the treasure again and went to sell everything he owned so he could buy the field. Jesus said God's kingdom is like that treasure: it is worth more than anything else. The story is short, but it helps listeners think about how valuable God's kingdom is. Imagine the man's surprise when he uncovered the treasure. He knew he had found something special, and he was willing to give up what he had so the field could be his.
Questions to ask
- What did the man find?
- Where was the treasure hidden?
- Why was the man willing to sell what he owned?
