Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Paul wrote to Christians in Thessalonica and gave them advice for daily life. He told them to keep praying, be glad in hope and give thanks in every situation. Giving thanks does not mean that every day feels easy or that sad things are good. It means remembering that God is with us and noticing the good gifts we have, even on a difficult day.
Families can practise gratitude together. They might thank God for food, for someone who helped them, or for a safe place to rest. When people share what they are thankful for, they can encourage one another. Paul wanted the believers to keep following Jesus as a community, helping each other and remembering God's love. This verse gives us a simple habit: pause, notice a gift and say thank you.
Questions to ask
- What food do you like?
- What is one thing you are thankful for today?
- How can remembering good gifts help us on a difficult day?
