Memory verse
“but those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.”

A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Isaiah gave God's people words of hope when they felt tired and discouraged. He said that people who wait for the Lord would have their strength renewed. He used the picture of an eagle rising into the sky to help them imagine being lifted up. He also wrote that they could keep running and walking without giving up.
Waiting does not always mean sitting still. It can mean trusting God while we keep doing what is right and asking for help when we need it. Everyone gets tired sometimes, after work, play or a difficult day. Rest, encouragement and help from others can give us strength to continue. Isaiah's words remind readers that God sees them and can help them keep going. Like an eagle gliding on the air, they can find hope for the next step.
Questions to ask
- What bird has wide wings?
- What helps you keep going when you feel tired?
- What might it mean to wait for God while still taking the next step?
