A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Peter and John were going to the temple to pray. At the gate called Beautiful, they saw a man who had been unable to walk since he was born. Each day people carried him there so he could ask visitors for help.
The man looked at Peter and John, hoping they would give him something. Peter said he had no silver or gold, but he would give what he had. In the name of Jesus Christ, Peter told him to get up and walk.
Peter took the man's right hand and helped him up. At once his feet and ankles became strong. He stood, walked, and went into the temple with Peter and John, praising God. The people recognized him as the man who used to sit at the gate. They were amazed at what had happened. Peter told the crowd that Jesus had healed the man.
Questions to ask
- Who helped the man stand?
- Where did the man sit each day?
- What did Peter tell the crowd about how the man was healed?
