Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus told the people to ask, seek and knock. Those who ask will receive, those who seek will find, and a door will be opened to the person who knocks. Jesus explained this with a family example. A parent would not give a stone to a child who asked for bread. A loving parent wants to give good things. God is even more generous and knows how to give good gifts to those who ask. The people could remember someone asking, looking and knocking at a door. Jesus invited them to pray and trust that God hears them.
Questions to ask
- What can you knock on?
- What did Jesus say we should do when we need help?
- What example did Jesus use to explain God's good gifts?
