Memory verse
““You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavour, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.”

A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus told his followers, You are the salt of the earth. Salt was useful for adding flavour to food and helping preserve it. Jesus asked what good salt would be if it lost its taste. It would no longer be useful. He wanted his disciples to make a helpful difference in the world around them. Their words and actions could bring kindness, fairness and care to others. Salt was familiar in every home, so his picture was easy to remember. We do not need to be loud or famous to make a difference. A kind word, a fair choice or help offered at the right time can matter. Jesus asked his followers to live in a way that was good for people around them.
Questions to ask
