Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus said that God blesses the pure in heart, and that they would see God. He was teaching about people who are honest inside and out. A pure heart does not mean a person never makes a mistake. It means wanting to do what is right and being truthful when we get something wrong. Jesus' words invited the crowd to look beyond appearances and care about the choices people make. A child who returns a lost purse instead of keeping it shows honesty in a way everyone can see. We can ask God to help us choose what is true and good.
Questions to ask
- What did the child find?
- What did the child do with the purse?
- What does it mean to be honest in your heart and actions?
