Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus was speaking with his disciples before he went away from them. They were troubled because they did not understand what would happen next. Jesus told them to trust him. He said he was the way, the truth and the life, and that people come to the Father through him.
The disciples wanted clear answers, but Jesus invited them to keep trusting him. His words describe who he is for Christians: he shows the way to God, tells what is true and gives life with God. We can picture a path that helps travellers reach a place they are looking for. When we are unsure what to do, we can learn from Jesus' words and actions, and ask a caring adult to help us choose a kind and honest way forward.
Questions to ask
- Who is walking with Jesus?
- What helps you find your way to a place?
- How can Jesus' example help someone choose what to do?
