Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Paul told Christians to take the helmet of salvation. A helmet protected a person's head, and Paul used it to remind readers of God's saving care. He was describing spiritual armor, not a battle against people. The letter encouraged Christians to remember that God was with them and had given them hope. When we feel unsure, we can remember God's promises and ask trusted people to help us. The helmet made an idea visible: God's rescue and care could guard the thoughts and hopes of people who trusted him.
Questions to ask
- What is on the child's head?
- What did Paul call the helmet?
- How can remembering God's care give someone hope?
