Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Paul described shoes ready to share the Good News of peace. Soldiers wore sturdy footwear so they could travel, and Paul used shoes as a picture of being ready to bring a message of peace. Christians could take the Good News wherever they went. Peace means more than staying quiet. It can mean making peace after an argument and treating people with care. We can use calm words, listen and help friends solve problems. The shoes reminded readers to be ready to carry a message that could bring people together.
Questions to ask
- What is on the child's feet?
- What message did Paul connect with the shoes?
- How could you help bring peace after a disagreement?
