The story behind this colouring sheet

Mary and Joseph had travelled a long way to Bethlehem. The town was so busy that there was no room for them in the guest room, so they stayed where the animals were kept.

That night, baby Jesus was born. Mary wrapped Him snugly in strips of cloth and laid Him in a manger — a wooden box that held the animals' hay.

Out in the fields, angels told some shepherds the wonderful news: "A Saviour has been born!" The shepherds hurried to Bethlehem to see the baby for themselves.

Talk about it

  1. Where did Mary lay baby Jesus to sleep?
  2. Who were the first people to hear the good news from the angels?
  3. Jesus was born in a very ordinary place. What does that tell us about Him?
