Memory verse
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.”
Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus was speaking with his disciples before he left them. They were troubled because he had told them he was going away. Thomas asked how they could know the way. Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth and the life. He said that through him they could come to the Father. Jesus was not giving them a map. He was telling them to trust him and follow what he taught. The disciples could bring their questions to Jesus, and he answered them with care. We can remember this saying when we see a path leading somewhere. Jesus invites people to learn from him and follow his way.
Questions to ask
- Where does the path lead?
- What did Thomas ask Jesus?
- What do you think it means to follow Jesus' way?
